Monday 11/29 170 PHASE 3 has begun!

So I made it through Thanksgiving.  I ate a large portion of salad, some turkey.  I was kinda craving the mashed potato and gravy.  I took one little piece of turkey and dipped it in the gravy- then felt guilty!  But in general, I didn't get upset about not eating the whole sheebang of a meal!  I even made Tamale's for three days for Xmas presents, and didn't even taste one.  Hope they taste okay to everyone else!

Woke up this am. feeling kinda bloated.
Haven't been to the bathroom for a few days and think I am maybe clogged up a little. I took some tea and magnesium. yesterday and it didn't work. So I took more this am.....  black poo!  really thick and oh my......... I need cleaning out!
REMINDER TO SELF- take mag every day!!

HCG Diet Phase 3 weeks 1-3
In the first 3 weeks of Phase 3, you may eat anything you'd like except starches and sugars, but the amount that is eaten is controlled by your morning wieght.
The bodyweight should become stable and should not have dramatic swings upward after an occasional intake of excess calories. Accoridng to Dr. Simeon, "If no carbohydrates whatsoever are eaten, fats can be indulged in somewhat more liberally and even small quantities of alcohol, such as a glass of wine with meals, does no harm, but as soon as fats and starch are combined things are very liable to get out of hand. This has to be observed very carefully during the first 3 weeks after the treatment is ended otherwise disappointments are almost sure to occur."
It is important to eat an adequate amount of protein and enough food. A good rule of thumb, is to double your intake of protein and triple the amount of calories. Instead of 2 servings of 3.5 oz. of protein (100g), you would have 2 servings of 7 oz. (200g), with a daily target of about 1,500 calories. These numbers would be adjusted based upon your hunger and daily weigh-in to maintain your weight in the 4 pound target range.    (+/- 2)

So, today I am going to try some new foods.  I am crispying up some cheese to see what it is like and if it fills me up.....  I've also made more Chocolate Delite- yum!

Gouda, jack and muenster and good old cheddar.  I've cooked in the oven until bubbly and then let it cool.  Oh my-delish and I ate 3 slices.  I've decided to track my calories on sparks so I can track what I eat and drink.
Link here

So according to the internet I could eat 1834 calories a day to "maintain" my weight.
This is soooo wrong.  I think.  But maybe this is where I go wrong.
According to the HCG diet, I should be eating 60% of these calories in protein.  Let see where that leaves me.....
So far today here is what I've eaten:
To figure out the % of food I eat in protein, do I divide the calories 641 divided by 29?  that comes out to 22.1.  Not sure if that is correct.  Will have to do more research!

Monday 11/22 172lbs

slowly trickling off.
Now have only one day left of shots.
Then have 3 days of the diet and then 3 weeks of adding protiens only.
then 3 more weeks of adding a few starches.
NO NO NO!  I am a little afraid of it.

Today while I was walking/running with Candice, it was a little nice to feel my legs not scraping up against each other as I was walking.  My legs had a little "air" in between them as I walked.

I heard on the radio today that Hi Health carries HCG--and they are having a sale of 20% off and an extra 10% off if you mention KEZ.......
should I purchase now?

Soooooo scary to go off the diet and I haven't reached my goal weight.......
Still a little disappointed that my BMI is still in "overweight" and almost "obese" phase!
I was also thinking that this time last year I weighted 220 lbs.  That makes 50 lb weight loss for the entire year.
Not too shabby, but what was I thinking letting myself get that big?

11/18 Thursday 174.2 : )

Went to SYTYCD last night.  Totally forgot to eat before I went.  Oh my those Nacho's looked tempting. But a second look at them kinda made me sick.  Just oozing...... All I could see was dripping oil!
Wasn't too much to pass them up. Kisha and Kelsey got a hot dog and popcorn and drink.  I passed.
Had a great time..... but was starving when I got home, but passed the kitchen and went straight to bed.

One fear I am having is that I am not hungry.  I do not crave food unless I miss eating my meal.  I am so worried about my appetite after the shots are done in 4 more days. Its the appetite and craving that will do me in.

When I weighed this am, I can see my short term goal for being under 170 for family pictures.  But I still have another 20 lbs to loose.  I looked on the web yesterday and realized that 170 lbs for 5'5" is considered OBESE!!!!  Oh my.... I must have been at deaths door at 220.  my BMI is 29.0
  • Underweight = <18.5
  • Normal weight = 18.5–24.9
  • Overweight = 25–29.9
  • Obesity = BMI of 30 or greater
(CBS) Are fat people better at sniffing out food?
That's the suggestion of a new study from England. It found that overweight people - those with a high body-mass index (BMI) - are better at detecting to food odors than people with a low BMI.
And high-BMI types have even greater "olfactory acuity" after they've eaten that before, according to the study. In other words, they're still open to temptation by pleasant aromas even if they have a full belly.
Is that why overweight people have such trouble fighting off temptation - that they're tempted by food aromas thin people can't even smell?
The study involved 24 nonsmokers between 18 and 49 years of age. It was conducted at the University of Portsmouth and published in the journal Chemical Senses.
The body mass index can give a good indication of whether a person is overweight. A BMI of 18.5 to 24.9 is considered normal. A BMI over 30 is considered obese.

I have been having trouble going to the bathroom.  At Sara's suggestion I purchased Magnesium pills and B vitamin (sub lingual) and some Triple Leaf Tea Herbal Laxative Team for Gentle Effective relief.  If I take 2 mag ills and drink the tea with some other tea for taste, I go.  It feel much better.

176.4 Friday 11/12 A wonderful feeling to be "a loser"

I wake up in the am and feel my tummy smaller.  I feel my rings and shoes fitting loser, and I love those feelings.  Yesterday went to lunch w/Candice and Peg.  We all got a Mango/Chicken salad.  Except mine turned out to be a salad with grilled chicken.  It was pretty yummy.

I wore my blue jeans w/a silver belt, a white tucked in shirt, and my black and white jacket.
It was wonderful to fit into those clothes.

I am lovin' this even though it is pretty hard work.
I have not been eating supper at all.  I have been eating an apple about 5pm, and then melba toast about 7pm.
Thats it.

Still have that short term goal to be at 170 before Thanksgiving.
6.5 lbs to go....... 12 days.

178.4 tues 11/9/10

A lb every other day is not good enough for me for right now.
I want to be loosing a lb a day ---
I am eating two snacks and one meal of protein and veggies.
Trying not to eat in the evening.
With so little eating and exercising every day for 45 minutes I should be loosing a lb a day.
Why am I disappointed?
Am I an overachiever?
Am I too critical?
At least I am not gaining- but I feel for the amount of work I am doing I should be losing more.
I am loosing inches.  My clothes, my jewelry, even my shoes are looser.
Why do I feel it hard to give myself a pat on the back?

Last night was kinda difficult.  Beau Kelsey Lauren & Koltn went to get yogurt and came back with filiberto's.
the smell was not so appealing and watching Kelsey eat the nacho's was a little sickening.  But, every commercial on TV was about food.  Appealing food.  I was really hungry and really wanted some yogurt. But I told myself that "thinner feels better than any food tastes".  I will have the will power while I am on the shots, but what will happen after there are no shots?  What will my eating habits be like?

Each day I can count the many times I would have just "put" something into my mouth and it is amazing how much I eat not eating.  Luckily I catch myself and either spit it out or don't even eat it.

Got this article from Sparks:  Are you afraid to try or are you afraid to fail?

A well-lived life is not for the timid. The world was never meant to be approached with extra caution and fear of making mistakes. Kids know that you have to jump in feet first and be willing to take some lumps on the head if you're going to have any fun. When did we stop trying new things? Why did we stop taking risks? In large part, we're afraid of messing up. We've settled into our comfort zones and don't want to look like a fool to ourselves or others. What's the price we pay for our pursuit of perfection? No growth, no sense of discovery, few real experiences. The sacrifice isn't worth it. Are there points in your life that you wish you could have back because you didn't pursue an idea or a new interest? Those chances are gone forever--but you'll have more in the future to take full advantage of. It's been said that most people don't learn much that's new past their 20s. That's an awful long time to stay stagnant. The only mistake you should be afraid to make is not trying.

To swear off mistakes is very easy. All you have to do is swear off having ideas.
Today is another day- its a good day, I feel great and I'm glad to be alive!

Nov 3 thursday 181.2

Yesterday was a semi-fasting day.  Koltn went through the temple and we had a late dinner.
I ate a grilled chicken salad without any dressing.
